yesterday i finished up week two of my 16 week half marathon training plan. it was a “long” run of 4 miles.
after our morning easter egg hunt i laced up & headed off to the beach. i love that place. i usually find at least one sand dollar every time i run there so my hopes for this day were no different. it has been interesting to see what things get washed ashore in the changing seasons. the world is a fascinating place!
anyways, at mile two i found my first sand dollar. yay!
a few more steps & i found another, & another & another! by 2.5 miles i had found four sand dollars!!!
i had stuck my phone in my sports bra & had two sand dollars in each hand, being careful not to crush them.
i was feeling super lucky when lo & behold i spotted another one! 5! then 6, 7, could this really be happening?! how am i going to run holding 7 sand dollars?!
then i spotted another, 8, 9, 10!!! i was attempting to run holding 10 sand dollars. luckily i only had one mile to go. by this point i was literally laughing out loud! i’m sure i looked rather silly but i was so excited i could hardly contain myself.
with 2 sand dollars in each hand & the rest tucked here & there i managed to make it home with all 10 in one piece. that was the best, craziest run ever!

i’ve got 678.16 miles to go to reach my goal.
